I Have a Lot to Complain About, But…

WordPress.com is not cooperating right now, but…

it’s amazing that technology allows me to share my opinions with people across the globe.

My hands are cold, but…

the heater and my sweater are keeping me warm.

Our roof leaks, but…

we have a roof.

I suffer from anxiety and depression, but…

I have medication to help me through the day.

We don’t make as much money as we’d like, but…

we have enough.

My kids scream and whine and scream and whine, but…

they have healthy lungs and strong opinions.

Hubby always seems to be at work, but…

he’s home every night, eventually.

I get overwhelmed with all there is to do as a mom, but…

when hubby is home he does dishes, does laundry, and even lets me have a night off every week.

The little girls have been driving me crazy, but…

when they are in a good mood they are so sweet to each other.

My big boys fight with each other.  All.  The.  Time. but…

they are genuinely GOOD kids who do their homework and chores, play with their little sisters, share with their friends, and try not to say bad words.

I am technically obese, but…

I am healthy and fit enough to run a half marathon.

I don’t like my thighs, but….

I have nice wrists.

I have only one pair of nice pants that fit me, but…

I have nice pants that fit me.

The boys have to make their own Halloween costumes this year, but…

they were blessed with creative minds.

I can’t afford those newfangled computer gadgets for the kids, but…

I found some used old-school types online for way cheap.

This Christmas will be less abundant than the last, but…

we still have so much more than we actually need.

I have to make a lot of the presents for Christmas this year, but…

I have the time and the skills to do it.

I have a lot to complain about, but…

really, I have nothing at all to complain about.

  1. Finally, someone who gets it!!! I love you for this post, Crystal! Our situation is pretty rough right now. Like rock bottom. But I know there are people in the world with less, so I try hard not to be a complainer. But I see it on fb all the time. Friends who have happy, healthy, financially secure families, will post 14 times a day whining how horrible everything is and why do they even get out of bed because they burnt muffins, and they had to wake up a kid to go pick up another. Not little vents, but full on, “FML, I am so sick of this crap! I never catch a break! Seriously can anything ever go right?!” So off my soapbox. just wanted to thank you for a positive.

    1. thanks, i feel the same way. We all have a tendency to look at the negative, but when it comes down to it, there’s always someone who has it worse. And if you are that ONE person who has it the worst of everybody in the whole entire freaking world, then…what can you do?

  4. This is such a cool post! If I was to write a post like this, I would probably write almost the same things. Its nice to know there are people out there who have the same problems as me. And I need to look at the positives more too. So thanks!
