The Perfect Storm OR Highway Robbery: Fer Realz, Yo

This Mediocre Mormon Mommy is also very mediocre at blog-posting.  I was going to write about how I had the “Perfect Storm” of bad days (a culmination of negative forces conspiring against me all at once), and about the fact that I was literally robbed, AND about how busy I have been.  But I am just too busy to write about all that.

“Lemme ‘splain.  No, there is too much, lemme sum up.”

-Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Bad/busy several days lately.  Got car window smashed, purse stolen, had to replace window, debit/credit/social security/drivers license cards, checks, phone, purse (which the kids sweetly bought me for my birthday!), earphones and an iPod armband (those things are expensive!), and had to contact bank/credit card companies.

Forgot I was babysitting one of the boys’ friends, left the big boys at home and took the girls with me to the gym and when we got back, there he was at our house.  Hubby arranged for the car window to get fixed.  Stuck with the little car and a few too many kids with a DMV appointment which turned into two trips to the DMV.  Two.  In one day.  I could just end this post now and leave you all crying, but like the poor saps in line at the DMV, I press on.

Got a babysitter for J-Dog and friend (babysitter for the babysitter, if you will).  Took the other 3 to the DMV.  Twice.  In one day.  Also took them to various other stores.  Fits were thrown by all, a bathroom door was prematurely opened on one of us, and DMV guy was totally making fun of my crazy-mom face.  Got boys and friend to Football practice late.  Coach not happy.  Mom embarrassed.  Had no method of payment.  Got denied using Hubby’s card (why didn’t they check ID on the guy that stole my freaking credit card?!?!?!)!  Spilled Double Gulp of Diet Coke. Gained weight.  Ran out of tortillas.  MCDONALD’S HAD NO ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Enchilada sauce exploded all over my kitchen and myself.  Blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc. Gottagobye.

  3. OMGosh Crystal I’ve had this in my inbox all this time and just barely got to it. I’m so sorry!!! Do you know I had a perfect storm at about the same time? Crazy stuff. CRAZY. I’ll post about it, of course. But in the meantime just know that you are not alone. You have a friend out in podunk who loves you and prays for you. 🙂 Hope things are much better now that this post is practically distant history!

  5. Oh Crystal….you poor thing! I hope you got a long bath in or a date night after all this. ;-( I’m so sorry to hear that this happened. It always surprises me that people can steal from, hurt, and do worse against their fellow man (or woman).
